Attorney A. J. Mitchell is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, and Gwinnett County Bar Association. As a U.S. Army officer, he served in various positions of contract management both in the U.S. and abroad. During Operation Desert Storm, he was deployed to Saudi Arabia and served as Manager of Contracts, U.S. Army Support Group. Upon leaving military service, Attorney Mitchell served as Corporate Purchasing and Subcontracts Manager, Westinghouse Remediation Services, Inc. After leaving Westinghouse, he formed Procurement Systems, Inc., a business consulting and training entity, where he conducted public and federal seminars relative to procurement and contract management throughout the Southeast United States. Attorney Mitchell joined General Electric Company in June 1998 and served as a Manager of Contracts and Risk Management for GE Power Systems (GE) and later served as a GE Risk Attorney, providing legal, contract, and risk management advice to management, sales, and project management teams. Attorney Mitchell left GE in May of 2003 to pursue a private law practice and established the Law Offices of A. J. Mitchell, LLC. In addition to practicing law, Attorney Mitchell served as an adjunct Professor for DeVry University where he taught business law courses in both the graduate and undergraduate programs. He also, serves as an Administrative Hearing Officer for DeKalb County, Georgia. Attorney Mitchell received a B.A. degree in Political Science from the University of South Alabama, an M.S. degree in Contract and Acquisition Management from Florida Institute of Technology, an M.B.A., with a concentration in Project Management, from the Keller Graduate School of Management, and a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from John Marshall Law School.
